BEC's Bolton Fair "Firebox PPEC"

Fire Box Pulled Pork, Cabot Cheese, Fried Eggs, Bun

Bolton Fair Pulled Pork Egg and Cheese (PPEC):
For BEC, today was an extra special day.  Once a year the opportunity presents itself for BEC and family to travel a bit west to the fine town of Bolton, MA for the Bolton Fair.  Having gone to this fair since I was 5 years old it has become an old time tradition even for myself, but for some the fair has been around for even longer.  This year they celebrated their 129th festival and I have to say it was one of the better events they have put on.  Being an old fashioned fair you won’t find some of the crazier rides that exist these days but they still carry all the popular fair rides your used to.  Beyond the rides, and the endless sounds of balloons popping you can find everything from crafts, lumber jacks, oxen pull, and a barn stocked full of animals.  Cows, sheep, turkeys, llamas you name it they have it.  There is even an intense sheering competition in which all the pro’s come out.  BEC’s first priority today was to grab a hold of a pulled pork sandwich from Fire Box of Bedford, MA and turn it into a custom BEC.  This would take a little bit of planning and ridiculousness to pull off but we were up for the challenge.  Seeing how most pulled pork stands don’t offer egg and cheese with their sandwiches we had to take measures into our own hands.  Having come prepared with a small backpack we were able to covertly set up our mini camping stove off in the distance.  After a quick heat up and sizzling of some fried eggs we were ready to lay our cheese down and pounce.  Having already sent a member of BEC to wait the line out the sandwich was hot and ready to go.  It was officially time to make this pulled pork sandwich a fresh PPBEC (pulled pork bacon egg and cheese).  Having heard great things about Fire Box we had no doubt that this sandwich would go down in taste bud history.  NO SURPRISE this sandwich was divine.  The combination of the juicy pulled pork, hot bun, and fresh fried eggs with plenty of pepper and Cabot cheese was an explosion of savory delights.  The only thing left to do now is convince Fire Box to let us have a guest spot on their menu.  After careful review BEC decided that this sandwich was absolutely worth the risk of being thrown out for having an open stove mid fairground.
You may think our fair experience ended here but alas BEC was not done being romantically spontaneous.  After being filled with our new custom Fire Box BEC or PPBEC it was off to visit the animals.  With so many animals to look at it was hard to know where to start but we figure the big ass donkey (literally) was a good start.  We slowly made our way throughout he animal corral introducing ourselves to each and everyone wishing them a great day and safe travels back to their local farms.  You may not think it, but these representatives of local farms really do appreciate a few thank yous and best wishes from time to time.  After all they have to travel from near and far just for your entertainment.
After enjoying all the animals and a quick stop at the lumberjack show it was off to see the Northeast's best rabbit competition.  Some say it’s actually the Super Bowl of rabbit events.  This stop at the fair is always a top priority and has become not only the best rabbit watching but people watching as well.  After last year it would be hard to top a young child scolding us for not knowing the ritualistic mating style of the mini lop....Rathe this year held something else in store for us.  For one a knowledgeable young man who you could tell resented his mother for not letting him handle the sales of their rabbits, and second a man who somehow knew I was exactly the type of person who should be yelled at from across the rabbit arena in order to let me know that his area was where the BIG rabbits lived.  Quickly shuffling over hay and straw BEC made their way over  to this man who so confidently called me out in the middle of a large crowd.  His first words...”These rabbits like to play with dogs” how he knew we had dogs I don’t know but SOLD !!!  The combination of these rabbits are BIG and they love dogs had me at hello.  Cash in hand and no reservations it was time to select the new member of the BEC family.  Always hating the separation of animals it was hard not to take two but with these guys growing upwards of 25 Lb's BEC needed to stay in check.  Ten minutes later Jackson the Flemish Giant Rabbit was ours and ready to go home.
Custom Pulled Pork Egg and Cheese+Carnival fries+Fresh Squeezed Lemonade+Deep Fried Oreo’s+Flemish Giant Rabbit=Another successful Bolton Fair.  Thank you Bolton, Fire Box, and Ramble Ledge Rabbitry for a great summer experience.  See you all next year !!
