BEC's Sunday Brunch With Joseph Two

HEC: Ham, egg, cheese, croissant        Side: Bacon and cheese covered herb home fries

The Bostonian
Raining, humid, wet, and down right gloomy.  BEC was in need of a warm family style breakfast and FAST.  In order to satisfy this insatiable craving for a hot home style breakfast BEC decided to take it’s hunger to Joesph Two on Main St in Waltham, MA.  For a long time we have heard great things about J2’s and were excited to see what all the hype was about.  Shocked there was no extreme line our party of 2 was able to be seated before a party of three which always makes for an awkward walk by.  We were able to sit right down, and quickly enjoy a coffee.
After a quick glance of the menu BEC was ready to place their order and await what would be a glorious display of breakfast talent.  After what seemed like no time at all our order arrived and instantly our eyes were beaming and jaws dropping at the breakfast that sat before us.  This BEC or HEC rather was glistening under the faint light being omitted by the overhead barn lights.  The Bostonian breakfast was extraordinary.  It’s buttery croissant and melty cheese matched up perfectly with the ever so salt mound of ham that was reflected in every part of the sandwich.  There is no skimpy part of this meal, every angle of the sandwich is covered by it’s ingredients.  Moving onto the side dish I must warn you they offer cheese and bacon on pretty much everything they serve.  Being held captive by this notion BEC could not help ordering their home fries with this addition.  And boy are we glad we did.  These herb tossed bites were excellent and the cheese and bacon topping only made them better.  Even if you can’t handle the extra bonus these fries will not let you down.  Now thinking this meal was already perfect BEC was shocked when the waitress returned a minute later to deliver 2 fresh slices of home cooked french toast!  Where did this come from?  Well apparently the Bostonian comes with this side and I wasn’t even aware.  BEC was so caught up in the sandwich aspect they completely missed this bonus, which is in fact listed in the menu.  A little over the top the toast was nice but could not be finished with all the other food available.  But thank you J2’s for this extra little snack.  Overall BEC would recommend that all of those who can make the trip to Waltham, MA should give this hidden gem a try.  Joseph Two’s was a great find, and BEC will return again..possibly even for dinner!!
